Constructing the Advert

In the construction of the magazine advert, what I did was get the images I was going to use and place them onto the page, once I did that, I edited the text at the top left of the advert to look 3D. I used Photoshop to edit my advert, the reason for this is because it allows me to cut out parts of an image and manipulate it to move wherever I would like to place it.

Constructing the Digipak

For the construction of the Digipac, I used a template to allow me to see what size I would need each part to be, and see where I was going to place my images.

I started by doing each image on Photoshop individually. What I would do is take an image that I would use and change its size and add other images to that image I was working on, this then creates the image that I would like to use.

Once I had finished finished all the images, I put them all into place, and this finished my Digipac.

Editing the music video 2

For our second editing process, we went though what we already had, and then added the rest of the clips we recorded after the first editing process. We then looked though what we already had, with the new clips we had to see how they would go well with each other, and what can be improved. Some of the clips we recorded were upside down, the reason for this was so we were able to get different angles for the video. During the editing process, we then rotated the clips which were upside down, by 180 degrees, this was so it was the right way up.

Third recording

This was our third and final recording, what we did this recording session is record the band scene, we used yet another piece of equipment, and what it was, was a light. What the light aloud us to do is to record and keep the shot clear from looking dark, but also stopping any silhouette from happing, it kept the picture clean for our band scene. We also recorded the band scene three times in three different angles, so when it comes to the editing there are lots of shots and different angles.

Second recording

In our second recording, we went round areas of London shooting more shots, recorded more than the first time we went out recording, but this time round we used a new piece of equipment which was very handy in recording the video. We used a monopod, the reason why we used a monopod is because it helped with a steady and clean looking tracking shot, and our music video has a lot of walking involved which means the monopod came in good use.

Editing the music video 1

For our first editing process of the video, what we did was get all the clips that we have been able to record so far, what we then did was see what clips would be best for different parts of the video. The way we did this was by looking through each video and then making the choice on whether it would be good enough for our video. We aimed on using all of our clips that we recorded so none go to waist, so we saw if there would be away of improving some of our clips though the editing. Once edited, we put all the clips where they should of been and then started to put in markers, the markers were to help lip syncing, this is so the music video looks professional when finished editing.

Frist recording

We went out for our first shot up London to make our music video, we had a few troubles getting through pubic and had a few lighting problems with some shots, besides that it was pretty successful with the lip syncing and miss-en-scene. What we need to work on for the next time we go recording up London, is getting more shots, make sure the lighting of a shot is fine and possibly use a dolly for tracking shots. I have edited what I have done so far, it looks pretty good so far, just needs a bit more. Must also focus on getting some performance biased recordings done for the music video.
